Hopefully, this story will give you a better understanding of my life and my business. Toward the end of 2005 I had become ill and was having trouble keeping up with daily life. In January of 2006 I was diagnosed with throat cancer and, after passing out, was admitted to the hospital where I spent the next 3½ months undergoing the most massive radiation and chemo treatments humanly withstandable. By the time I was released from the the hospital in Medford, Oregon, I had lost 90 pounds and was so weak that I could not even stand up without blacking out. At that point I was feeding only through a tube in my stomach, with a machine pumping my only nutrition. As it turned out, this would continue for the next 2½ years. During this time, not only did I lose my ability to eat food, but I lost my business of 11 years, and along with it, my entire income. My life savings was spent on medical bills and I was forced into bankruptcy, eventually losing my home as well. In other words, I had lost everything I worked my entire life to obtain. Even though my health was slowly improving, I was left permanently disabled. In fact, about the only thing I could manage for more than a couple minutes at a time was working on a computer or driving a car, which turned out to be lucky for me since i am, today (and for the last year), living out of my car. Because I have never been a quitter, I decided that I would use my gift of graphic design to help people share their faith with the world, and, at the same time, rebuild my life financially, hoping to eventually put a roof back over my head.
